Introduction
Dhaka College Science Club is an active science club of Dhaka College which has been working with science enthusiasts since 1996. To "Spread the knowledge of science to the utmost", Dhaka College Science Club has been working to nurture the young minds.  Students of class XI-XII of Dhaka College generally form the club body. Teachers of different subjects guide the club activity to produce the highest outcome. The interaction between the eager students and the wise teachers becomes profound in the club activities to discover the passages of science by implementing knowledge and wisdom.

Objectives & Goals
Dhaka College Science Club mainly patronizes science projects of the students of the institution. Apart from this, it has been working to satisfy the inquisitive minds by providing the knowledge of the unknown and the unseen. It has been helping the students to wander in every sphere of science from the very beginning. Dhaka College Science Club supports the students’ needs to materialize their scientific green ideas not only morally but also financially. To increase the practice of scientific methods, DCSC arranges workshops and seminars also. Olympiads are organized to find the hidden potentials among the students so that they can be nurtured in a proper way. It also works as a platform for sharing general knowledge and to bring that knowledge in competition level.

 

 

Club Origin
15 December, 1996, a club was born in ‘Dhaka College’ in the very heart of Dhaka city. It was named ‘Dhaka College Science Club’. The journey started towards eternity with the visionaries who had the vision of the glorious future of it. These brightest minds were Mohammad Ehsan Hoque, Ehtesham Morshed, Nabi Newaz khan, Ashik Noon, Moinuddin Ahmed Khan, Nasif Maksud and Md. Mahmudul Kabir. They had the guidance of Professor Naiyara Sultana, The then Principal of Dhaka College and the very first moderators ABM Shahjalal Sir, Kamar Afroze Madam and Abu Masud Sir.

 

 

Club History
From the very beginning Dhaka College Science Club was dedicated to its motto and goals. The very first Science Festival of DCSC was organized in the month of December, 1997. And in this very event, the first publication of DCSC ‘Sputnik’ was published.
After that, in the year of 2002, Tanvir Sobhan and other executives arranged some inter-college club activities. 2005 was the year when the biggest event took place in the premises of this long-historic college. Upol, Muhammad Muhaimin and other executives showed excellence in the management of the science fair.
In 2010, a two days long Science festival was arranged. Many institutions from all around Dhaka participated in that event.
And now we bring the biggest science fair ever arranged in Bangladesh. DCSC International Science Expo 2011 is going to be the biggest science expo in the history of Bangladesh and first International Science Expo arranged in Bangladesh.

 

 

 

Overview

On 04 January, 2012, the biggest International Science Expo that has ever been organized in Bangladesh will kick off in the premise of Dhaka College. This International Science Expo will be organized by Dhaka College Science Club (DCSC). Participants from all over the world will attend the event. This event will have an impact all over the country and attract science loving mob and people to attend this huge event and be a proud part of it.

The event has been announced internationally. It has been also added to the international yearly calendar of science festivals all across the world. Many teams have gave consent to attend the event and is preparing to participate. Not only international, but also students from every district are going to participate in this very event as will send invitation to each and every educational institution to participate.

The purpose of this event is not to show the expertise of our event management but to fulfill the social duty to unleash the hidden talents and scientific minds that holds the prosperity of our future. We want to exhibit that ‘Creativity’ and ‘Science’ can intermingle in such a manner that can be used in our day to day life. It would definitely support the young minds to find their potentials and nourish them in the fullest sense.

Many renowned educational institutions and science clubs arrange science fairs and competitions every year. But more than pursuing the inner perspective, they emphasize more in arranging the event. We are destined to break this circle and introduce the new and precise format of science expo in our country which will truly fulfill the needs of our society by encouraging the new ideas and implementing them in our practical world.
